Centro Crestron Connector
One program on a Crestron 4-Series processor that runs the room and connects it to Centro — no SIMPL Windows program required.
What it is
The Centro Crestron Connector is a program that runs directly on a Crestron 4-Series room processor (reference hardware: DIN-AP4). It does two jobs at once:
- Room controller — it owns the room's lighting, scenes, keypads, climate, shades, occupancy and door automation, and drives the Crestron hardware directly. This logic keeps working even when the internet is down.
- Centro connection — it registers the room with Centro, receives the room's configuration from the Centro backoffice, accepts guest and concierge commands, and reports status back.
A single processor can host up to 4 rooms, each appearing in Centro as its own connector.
One program, no SIMPL
This is a self-contained program — there is no separate SIMPL Windows program to load or maintain. You receive a ready-to-load release from Centro and load it onto the processor.
What it does
- Lighting & scenes — dimmers, switched loads and RGBW colour zones, grouped into named scenes (a per-light level and per-zone colour). Scenes are defined in the Centro backoffice.
- Keypads — Cameo and Horizon keypads, with each button assigned an action (recall a scene, raise/ lower/stop shades, all-shades, toggle/on/off, fade up/down).
- Climate — Airzone or Daikin HVAC over their local network APIs (setpoint, mode, fan, power).
- Shades — Somfy RTS shades via up / down / stop.
- Occupancy — a presence sensor sets back the HVAC and/or turns the lights off after the room has been vacant for a set time, and restores them when it's occupied again.
- Door automation — force the AC off while the door is open.
- Guest & concierge control (GRMS) — guests and staff recall scenes and control lighting, climate and shades from the Centro app.

How it works (at a glance)
- Load the program — a Centro-provided release is loaded onto the 4-Series processor.
- Rooms register with Centro — each room on the processor connects to your Centro tenant and registers itself automatically.
- Link & configure in Centro — an administrator links each room in the backoffice and fills in its configuration (hardware addresses, scenes, keypad buttons, climate, occupancy).
- Config is pushed to the processor — the room applies it immediately, no reboot.
- The room runs — keypads and automation work locally, and guests/concierge control the room through Centro.
Requirements
- A Crestron 4-Series processor with a free program slot
- A Centro tenant (Cloud or Enterprise)
- The room's hardware/addressing map (Cresnet IDs, channels, HVAC host, occupancy sensor IP-ID)
Next steps
- Installation & commissioning — load the program and get rooms online.
- Room configuration — the full room-profile reference (Centro backoffice).
- Admin web page — the on-box status and control page.
- Program updates — update the program in-app from the admin page.
